Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: 1830-0700 & every other weekend/holiday
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Emergency Room care to provide direct patient care during evening and overnight shifts, including every other weekend and holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Current RN license valid in Iowa.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Health Requirements:
- Current physical/health statement certifying fitness to work (within last year)
- Immunizations and vaccine requirements including COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, and Tdap (with accepted declinations where applicable)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) for TB screening
- Drug Screening:
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (NO THC)
- Background Checks and Compliance:
- Federal, state, and county criminal background checks within last 7 years
- Sex offender and abuse registry checks as required by Iowa law
- Employment eligibility verification (I-9)
- Various professional and confidentiality agreements and disclosures
- Competency Testing:
- Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year
- Skills checklist within the last year
Experience
- Minimum years of experience in Emergency Room nursing: Not explicitly stated (assume standard RN competency in ER setting)

Additional Information
- Must provide scanned copies of all required certifications and licenses with expiration dates.
