Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room (Travel)
Location: Beachwood, Ohio
Facility: Ahuja Medical Center, University Hospitals
Position Details
- Specialty: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)
- Employment Type: Travel
- Contract Length: 25 weeks
- Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience
- Note: Blocked schedules cannot be accommodated
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – American Heart Association only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – American Heart Association only
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Permanent RN License – Primary source verification required; temporary licenses not accepted
- Ohio Fingerprints – BCI&I check and FCRA-compliant national criminal background check (requirements vary based on length of Ohio residency)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Positive titers within last 15 years or approved booster protocol
- Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years or approved booster protocol
- Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series with declination, or positive titers within 15 years
- Tdap: Proof of vaccination within past 10 years (declinations not accepted)
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Negative results within last 6 months; if positive, clear chest x-ray and TB questionnaire required
- Fit Test: Completed within 1 year prior to start (specific mask models required)
- Physical/Health Statement: Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year stating ability to work without restrictions
- Influenza Vaccine: Proof of vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (preferred, not required)
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Proof or approved exemption (preferred, not required)
Professional & Compliance Requirements
- Education Verification: Highest level of education verified; international education requires equivalency documentation
- Employment Verification: Verification of employment within last 5 years through third-party
- Criminal Background Check: Completed within 6 months prior to start, including SSN trace and national criminal sweep
- OIG Search: Completed within 6 months prior to start
- SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC Screening: Completed within 6 months prior to start
- Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start (instant drug screens not accepted)
- UHS I-9 Attestation: Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- UHS Social Security Trace and NSO: If not included in background check, must be completed within specified timeframes
- UHS Competency Exam: Must score at least 80%, completed within 1 year prior to start
- UHS Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; 80% passing score required, completed within 1 year prior to start
- UHS Skills Checklist: Clinical skill-specific checklist completed within 1 year prior to start (initial hire only)
- UHS Module Completion Certificate: Completion of safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance
- Driver's License/State ID: Non-expired photo ID required
