Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Mayfield Heights, Ohio

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Minimum of 18 months recent and permanent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
• Must have a permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state license in hand
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must work at least every other holiday
• ECG rhythm recognition test and medication safety exam required during orientation (passing scores required)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum 1.5 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Certification in Stroke Treatment (CST)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required
• Background check including 7-year FCRA compliant search, education verification, and fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) required and must be updated annually
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing and results updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months and updated annually
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tdap every 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required annually (no declinations accepted without approved exemption)
• Drug screening (standard 10 panel) within 12 months, updated annually
• Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start date

Orientation & Training

• Completion of online training modules prior to start is mandatory
• Medication and ECG competency exams during orientation with required passing scores
• SafeMedicate and ECG rhythm recognition tests are part of orientation
• Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; video training must be watched before testing

References & Work History

• Two professional references required from employment within the last year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
• Employment application must include at least 3 years prior work history with 2 years in acute care and similar clinical area

Additional Notes

• Must be able to work night shifts and at least every other holiday
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• PBDS Assessment waived for this assignment
