Description
Job Opportunity: Mobile MRI Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Role: Mobile MRI Tech (Friday) and Main MRI Tech (Saturday-Sunday)
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, Friday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Holidays: Required to work if they fall on scheduled shifts
- On-call: No
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an MRI Tech (highest requirement found)
- Siemens MRI experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required (state license NOT required for MRI Tech)
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
- Radius rule: 60 miles
- Locals accepted on a case-by-case basis

Required Documentation & Compliance
- Proof of work eligibility (I-9 form)
- Copy of Driver’s License or State ID
- Copy of Social Security Card or SSN verification
- Background checks including:
- 7-year work/living history
- SSN Trace, Statewide, National Criminal, Sex Offender Registry, FACIS 3
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification (diploma or transcripts preferred)
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccination/booster documentation
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption (strict deadline applies)
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug test within 90 days of start
- Color blindness test required prior to start
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required
- Competency exam required
Additional Requirements
- Radiation badge required for all Radiology/Cardiology travelers except MRI Techs (MRI Techs do NOT require radiation badge)
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge (frontal view, solid light background, business casual attire)
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Complete employment application/resume with no unaccounted gaps
- Verification of last 3 clinical employers (or all if fewer than 3)
- Facility-specific orientation modules and first day instructions must be completed prior to start
- COVID vaccination records highly preferred; if declined, must complete facility declination form
Notes
- Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- All required certifications must be valid beyond 30 days from start date
- Facility uses Epic for charting and requires adherence to their specific policies and procedures
This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with Siemens experience looking for a weekend travel contract in a high-acuity teaching hospital environment with trauma exposure.
