Registered Nurse - Med Surg
Location: Elko, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts
Weekly Hours: 40 hours guaranteed
Weekend Hours: Variable
Call Requirements: As per contract
Patient Population: Pediatric, Adult, Geriatric
Unit: Acute Care Services
Number of Beds: 23
Patient Ratios: 1:5
Job Description
Provide nursing care in Medicine, Surgery, Telemetry, and Pediatrics units. Potential to float to other departments depending on patient census and department needs. Common diagnoses and treatments include COPD, CHF, pre/post Cath Lab care, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, and acute respiratory failure (adult and pediatric).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
- BLS certification required
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Skills & Experience
- Preferred experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry
- Familiarity with equipment such as Omnicell Medication Dispenser, Baxter pumps, Masimo Monitors, and GE Telemetry Monitoring system
- Experience with MEDHOST EHR system
Additional Information
- Fit testing is offered on-site
- Scrub color is not mandatory; any scrub color is acceptable
- Patient ratios are approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients
- The position requires flexibility to float to other departments as needed
