Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule & Hours

• 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
• Workdays primarily, including some weekends and rotating holidays
• Rotating shifts, most likely day shifts
• On-call required
• Patient ratio approximately 1:3

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BCLS (Basic Life Support) certifications required
• IV start proficiency
• Telemetry monitoring experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred (not mandatory)
• Must be willing to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• IV start proficiency
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership role
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Must complete fingerprinting with Ohio BCI & FBI using specific codes; fingerprinting must be current within 1 year of start
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start
• Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exam prior to start
• Unit-specific competency exams required
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required annually

Notes

• Facility requires strict adherence to fingerprinting and background check protocols, including review of any criminal history hits
• Candidates must be graduates of accredited nursing programs; international education requires additional approval
• Floating to other units of similar or lower acuity is expected
• Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory
