Job Opportunity: Pediatric RN CVICU
Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in a Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).
- Nurse-to-patient ratio varies by shift and patient acuity:
- 1:1 for ICU status patients
- 1:2 for ICU status patients
- 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU patients
Required Experience & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric CVICU experience.
- Pediatric CVICU experience within the last year.
- Experience working with Pediatric patients.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Required Licenses
- License verification and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to assignment start.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of specialty competency exams and core competencies with minimum passing scores.
- Compliance with health and safety requirements including:
- Immunizations: MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza (seasonal)
- Tuberculosis screening (PPD or IGRA) and chest X-ray if applicable
- Hepatitis B vaccination or documented declination
- Drug screening (12-panel) within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Fit testing for respiratory protection
- Background checks and employment verifications as required.
- Completion of onboarding and training modules specific to the specialty and facility protocols.
