Job Opportunity: Pediatric RN CVICU
Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in a Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio varies by shift and patient acuity:
- 1:1 for ICU status patients
- 1:2 for ICU status patients
- 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU patients
Required Experience & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including Pediatric CVICU experience.
- ICU experience within the last year.
- Experience working with Pediatric patients.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Required Licensure
- License verification and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to assignment start.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of specialty competency exams and skills checklists demonstrating proficiency in pediatric CVICU nursing.
- Compliance with health and safety requirements including:
- Immunizations: MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza vaccine (seasonal)
- Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA with follow-up as needed)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or documented declination
- Drug screening (12-panel) within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Fit testing for respiratory protection
- Background checks and employment verifications as per healthcare regulations.
- Completion of onboarding education and competency attestations related to pediatric CVICU care.
- Maintenance of professional references and submission of a current resume/profile.
