Job Description

• Provide nursing care in a high acuity Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit with oncology patient population.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in high acuity Med Surg Telemetry or higher required.
• Oncology experience preferred but not required.
• Float to various oncology units including:

  • Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
  • Acute Leukemia
  • Hematology
  • Medical Oncology
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Oncology
  • Gynecological Oncology
  • Urology
  • Colorectal
  • Surgical Oncology
  • Corrections Healthcare
• Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention.
• Staffing ratios: PCU 1:3 (can be 1:4 with mixed acuity), Med Surg Tele ideally 1:4 (can be 1:5).
• Variable weekend shifts based on unit needs.
• No set/blocked scheduling; self-scheduling requests are submitted and balanced by management.
• Orientation includes one week of Monday-Friday day shifts followed by 5 bedside orientation shifts between weeks 2 and 3.
• Shift assignments for 12-hour day/night rotating contracts may include days, nights, or a combination, reviewed every 4 weeks but subject to staffing priorities.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year.
• Certifications:

  • ACLS issued by the American Heart Association.
  • BLS issued by the American Heart Association.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Education:

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

• Orientation and onboarding processes are structured with specific timelines.
• Fingerprinting and background checks are time-sensitive and must be completed prior to or shortly after start.
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
