Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Interventional Radiology

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 4 days per week, 9-hour shifts between 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM (not self-scheduling)
Call Requirements:

• Primary and secondary call 6-8 shifts in 6 weeks, including weekends
• Holiday call (department closed on holidays)
• Call response time: 30 minutes

Department Details

• Interventional Radiology (IR)
• 6 labs/suites including pre-op and phase 2 recovery
• Average 20-30 cases per day
• Patient types: GI bleed, strokes, biopsy, central lines, drains, vascular cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 intraprocedural, up to 1:4 in phase 2 recovery
• Support staff: 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT) per shift
• Charge RN coverage from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (does not take patients, assists with cases and lunch coverage)

Required Certifications & Skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• EKG interpretation required
• Experience with drip titration required

Orientation & Training

• Unit/department-specific orientation: 5 days
• Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours

Equipment & EMR

• EMR system: EPIC
• Monitors: Phillips

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Drug-free workplace with mandatory negative drug screen
• Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
• Prior travel experience is not specified as required

This position is ideal for an experienced RN with interventional radiology skills, comfortable with call responsibilities and working in a fast-paced procedural environment.
