Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Inpatient/Acute Care Physical Therapist
• Shift options: 5 days x 8 hours or 4 days x 10 hours (day shifts)
• Start time flexible between 7:00 AM and 9:30 AM
• Every Other Week (EOW) coverage schedule is negotiable

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID
• Background checks including national criminal, state, county, SSN trace, sex offender, and federal exclusions
• Education verification with official transcript or diploma
• Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually)
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (not required annually)
• Immunizations and health requirements including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with follow-up if positive)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or immunity proof
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or immunity proof
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt)
• Fit mask testing completed onsite
• Professional references (2) within 3 years of start
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Verification of most recent employer
• Missouri EDL Search within 30 days of start

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit (verify if applicable)
• Medication and competency exams as applicable
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement annually
• Pass/fail testing for dysrhythmia/EKG as applicable (not typically required for PT but may be facility-specific)

Additional Notes

• Locals within a 50-mile radius may be considered at a reduced rate
• Coverage schedule and shift start times are flexible and negotiable
• This is a travel/contract position suitable for both first-time travelers and experienced travel therapists
