Job Opportunity: RN Operating Room

Location: Fishers, Indiana
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Registered Nurse in Operating Room (Surgery specialty)
• Minimum 2 years hospital experience in the OR required
• 1 year travel experience preferred
• Work schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each
• Shift start times vary between 5:30 AM and 8:00 AM, with shifts lasting 10 hours
• Call requirements: 5 weeknight call shifts per month (4:30 PM – 7:00 AM) and 1 weekend call per month (Saturday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years hospital experience in the Operating Room (OR), including OR experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Professional resume/profile submission
• Current nursing license verification (Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start)
• Signed assignment agreement
• Completion of specialty and pharmacology competency exams prior to start (minimum 80% score, max 2 attempts)
• Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics
• Health and immunization requirements including:

  • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, immunity evidence, or history verified by provider)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (mask required if declined)
  • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Tuberculosis screening (2-step PPD or IGRA, chest X-ray if positive)
  • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred before start)
• Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Background checks including criminal, employment, and professional references
• Driver’s license or state ID (valid, matching address requirements)
• Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment, updated annually
• Onsite onboarding and education attestations

Additional Notes

• Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually
• Ongoing annual updates required for certifications, health screenings, and background checks
• Some optional unit-specific checklists may be required by unit leadership after start
