Job Opportunity: Surgical Tech - Vascular Surgery
Location: Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Surgical Tech with experience in vascular surgery and endovascular procedures to support a growing vascular surgery unit. The role involves scrubbing for a variety of vascular cases including endovascular (IR procedures) and amputations.
Key Details
- Department: Vascular Surgery
- Number of Suites: 1 currently, with plans to grow
- Average Cases per Day: Approximately 3
- Shifts & Scheduling: To be discussed during the interview; position is posted at 36 hours per week
- Weekend/Call Requirements:
- Call from 7 AM Saturday to 7 AM Monday every 3rd weekend
- Holiday call rotation
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- Floating: May be required to float to other surgical teams, IR teams, or SPD if qualified
- Orientation: Unit-specific orientation includes scrubbing with a hospital surgical tech for one week
- Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Certifications:
- BLS Certification (required)
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through a Surgical Technologist program (NCCT not accepted)
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience
- Experience with endovascular (IR procedures) and vascular surgery cases
- Skills:
- Scrubbing required
Additional Information
- Charge Nurse and House Supervisor are present on each shift
- OR techs available
- EMR system used: EPIC
- May start with 8- and 10-hour shifts, potentially switching to 4 x 9-hour shifts during the assignment
