Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Position
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1830 - 0700)
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Call Requirements: As required by facility
- Float Requirements: As required by facility
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Experience working with adult patients
Unit and Patient Information
- Unit Type: Respiratory Therapy
- Patient Population: Respiratory patients across multiple units including Surgical ICU (SICU), Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU), Emergency Department (ED), Neurology, and Trauma
- Patient Acuity: Adult critical care, high volume busy ED with trauma experience required
- Equipment Used:
- Avea ventilators
- LTV transport ventilators
- V60 Bipap (with Bellavista coming soon)
- VapoTherm and Airvo for high flow oxygen therapy
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Skills and Experience
- Must Have:
- Adult critical care experience
- Experience in a high-volume, busy Emergency Department with trauma patients
- Preferred:
- Blood gas draw and processing on GEM analyzer
- Blood gas interpretation skills
Work Environment and Culture
- Dress Code: Black scrubs (facility standard)
- Personality Fit: Strong, confident therapist with good time management skills; willing to assist coworkers as time allows
- Additional Notes: Pediatric patients are stabilized in the ED and then transported to a nearby facility
