Job Opportunity: RN Telemetry I

Location: Woonsocket, Rhode Island
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Float RN position covering Medical/Surgical Telemetry and Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Must have 2+ years of recent cardiac nursing experience, including care for cardiac cath patients and telemetry patients
  • Night shift weekend requirement: every other Friday and Saturday
  • EPIC electronic health record experience required
  • ACLS certification must be current and reflect prior use in previous positions (no newly obtained ACLS accepted)
  • Submission must include current BLS and ACLS certifications

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in Rhode Island
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including within the last year
  • Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Cardiology experience
  • Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

  • Professional license primary source verification within 30 days of start
  • Drug screening (10-panel test) within 60 days of start (specific to some locations)
  • Annual completion of color-blind test
  • Basic Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%)
  • Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening (minimum 80%)
  • Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80%)
  • Specialty Exam (minimum 80%)
  • Skills Checklist submission required
  • Education verification (diploma or transcripts)
  • National criminal background check within one year of start date
  • Physical/health statement confirming clearance to work (annual)
  • Immunizations and health requirements including:
    • COVID-19 vaccination and booster or declination
    • MMR immunity proof
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination (declinations not accepted in some locations)
    • Influenza vaccine or declination (seasonal, optional)
    • TB test
    • Varicella immunity
    • Tdap vaccination (declinations not accepted in Rhode Island)
  • Respirator fit test (annual; must be completed prior to start if onsite testing not available)
  • Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation)

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
  • Submission must be in one PDF including: cover sheet, resume, skills checklist, 2 references (one from a manager or supervisor), license/certification verification, BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Weekend coverage is every other Friday and Saturday on night shift
