Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)

Location: Windsor, Vermont
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Coordinate total nursing care for patients.
  • Participate in patient and family teaching.
  • Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel to maintain professional nursing standards.
  • May be asked to work as a backup Charge Nurse.
  • Nurse to patient ratio: 1 to 4/5.
  • Average daily patient census: 22.
  • EMR system used: Cerner.
  • Must be willing to float to any unit within scope of practice, including Acute Rehab and Med Surg.
  • Block scheduling will NOT be considered.
  • 8 hours non-billable orientation required.
  • Call-back, holiday, and overtime multipliers apply.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont or Compact RN license.
  • Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Active American Heart Association ACLS certification.
  • Minimum 2 years recent experience in Medical-Surgical and Rehabilitation nursing.
  • Charge RN experience required.
  • Previous travel nursing experience of at least 3 months required.
  • Skills checklist for Medical Surgical nursing current within 1 year.
  • At least 1 supervisory-signed reference from the past 2 years of employment.
  • Must have own vehicle (no public transportation available).
  • Local travelers residing within 50 miles are NOT eligible.
  • Must include permanent address and any requested time off (RTO) at time of application; no RTO requests will be approved after submission.
  • Strict attendance policy: after 3 call-offs, contract may be terminated. Call-offs must be communicated at least 1.5 hours in advance.

  • This is a small community setting without public transportation.
  • The facility includes 25 inpatient medical-surgical beds and a 10-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit.
  • The hospital offers acute care, transitional care, hospice, physical therapy, and a therapeutic pool.
  • Location offers access to outdoor recreation and is within a 3-hour drive to major cities.
