Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)
Location: Windsor, Vermont
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Coordinate total nursing care for patients.
- Participate in patient and family teaching.
- Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel to maintain professional nursing standards.
- May be asked to work as a backup Charge Nurse.
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1 to 4/5.
- Average daily patient census: 22.
- EMR system used: Cerner.
- Must be willing to float to any unit within scope of practice, including Acute Rehab and Med Surg.
- Block scheduling will NOT be considered.
- 8 hours non-billable orientation required.
- Call-back, holiday, and overtime multipliers apply.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont or Compact RN license.
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Active American Heart Association ACLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in Medical-Surgical and Rehabilitation nursing.
- Charge RN experience required.
- Previous travel nursing experience of at least 3 months required.
- Skills checklist for Medical Surgical nursing current within 1 year.
- At least 1 supervisory-signed reference from the past 2 years of employment.
- Must have own vehicle (no public transportation available).
- Local travelers residing within 50 miles are NOT eligible.
- Must include permanent address and any requested time off (RTO) at time of application; no RTO requests will be approved after submission.
- Strict attendance policy: after 3 call-offs, contract may be terminated. Call-offs must be communicated at least 1.5 hours in advance.

- This is a small community setting without public transportation.
- The facility includes 25 inpatient medical-surgical beds and a 10-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit.
- The hospital offers acute care, transitional care, hospice, physical therapy, and a therapeutic pool.
- Location offers access to outdoor recreation and is within a 3-hour drive to major cities.
