Registered Nurse (Med Surg - Adult Medical/Pediatrics)

Location: Seymour, Indiana

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on Adult Medical and Adult Surgical units (2N/3N).
• Perform medical-surgical nursing duties including:

  • Scanning and administering all types of medication
  • Monitoring vital signs and performing head-to-toe assessments
  • Starting and managing IVs, blood administration, and point-of-care testing (POCs)
  • Managing isolation precautions
• Utilize equipment such as telemetry, vein viewers, bladder scanner, and electronic charting systems.
• Float between Adult Medical and Adult Surgical units as needed.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 1:5, supported by LPNs and CNAs for vital signs, POCs, and daily living assistance.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical Nursing.
• Current Indiana RN license or compact RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred but not mandatory.
• At least 6 months of previous travel nursing experience required.
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required for this assignment.

Additional Information

• Dress code: Any color scrubs (no blue jean material), neat and clean appearance, closed-toe and heel shoes, earrings only (no other piercings), long hair pulled back.
• Orientation provided on unit with hands-on preceptor training.
• Support staff available to assist with patient care tasks.
