Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work shifts: 2 eight-hour shifts and 2 twelve-hour shifts (evening hours approximately 10:30 PM to 11 PM and 2:30 PM to 11 PM)
• Flexibility in scheduling is required
• Call requirements:

  • RN’s take 30-40 hours of call per 4-week schedule
  • Evening shift requires weekend call (~24 hours per 4 weeks)
  • Night shift has minimal weekend call

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum 1 year of CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience within the last year
• Experience in cardiology, vascular surgery, and transplant surgery
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Ohio

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (must be completed prior to start)
• Monthly monitoring through workforce systems (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
• Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, opiates, etc.)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tdap vaccine (adult dose)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • TB questionnaire
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (medical exemptions require documentation)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• Annual acknowledgment of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
• Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership role
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually
