Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift:

    • 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts (06:30 AM - 3:00 PM) with call responsibilities
    • Flexibility required for shift and call coverage
    • Call hours vary by shift:
      • Day shift: 30-40 hours of call per 4-week period
      • Evening shift: Weekend call (~24 hours per 4-week period)
      • Night shift: Minimal weekend call
  • Specialty Experience Required:

    • Minimum 2 years in cardiac, vascular, and transplant nursing
    • At least 1 year of CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience
    • At least 1 year experience in a Level I Trauma facility
  • Required Skills:

    • General Operating Room
    • Cardiovascular
    • Thoracic
    • Vascular
    • Transplant
  • Charting System:

    • EPIC experience required

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (verify if required)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit
  • Other certifications may be unit-specific (e.g., PALS, NRP, EFM) – verify as applicable

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
  • At least 1 year of CVOR experience within the last year
  • Transplant nursing experience
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership)
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Background checks monitored monthly (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
  • Annual acknowledgment of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
  • Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
  • Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Parking permits are available for purchase but details are subject to change and not included here.
  • Fingerprinting and background check processes are time-sensitive and must be completed prior to or shortly after start date.
