MRI Technologist

Location: Eden, North Carolina
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Verify patient identification and document pregnancy status for patients of childbearing age.
• Use professional manners and methods to assist patients and family members requiring extra attention, ensuring patient understanding and safety.
• Demonstrate knowledge of MRI technology and cross-sectional human anatomy.
• Operate MRI scanners competently, including automatic injections of MRI contrast, disc drives, gateways, PACS, and laser printers.
• Interpret protocols, select appropriate scanning parameters, and assist in troubleshooting equipment and protocol issues.
• Administer oral and IV contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols, including establishing IV lines and checking lab values before contrast injection.
• Maintain thorough understanding of PACS and image transfer processes, including verifying and segmenting images, completing/modifying/canceling orders, and ensuring accurate charge information.
• Maintain accurate patient demographic information on PACS images.
• Perform tasks timely, manage scheduling for consistent workflow, volunteer for challenging tasks and new research, produce quality diagnostic images, and maintain a clean work environment.
• Precept new employees and students.

Required Qualifications

• Valid MRI Technologist license in North Carolina
• Minimum of 1 year of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
