Location: Springfield, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details

- Shift: 5x8 Evenings (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM)
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend, holidays, and on-call required
- On-call: Yes, as needed
- Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
- Schedule Flexibility: Block schedule requests can be discussed with manager
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
- License: Active Illinois state license required (pending license not accepted)
- Return to Office Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
Required Qualifications
- Valid X-Ray Technician license in Illinois
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an X-Ray Technician, with experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience in Acute Care and Outpatient settings
- Experience in Operating Room (OR) imaging
- Experience in ER, ICU, and NICU settings
- Proficient in adult X-ray procedures including:
- Abdomen (decubitus)
- Chest (AP, lateral decubitus, routine, upper airway/soft tissue neck)
- Facial bones
- Paranasal sinuses
- Temporomandibular joints (TM joints)
- Knee
- Hip
- Pelvis
- Elbow
- Forearm
- Hand
- Experience with C-Arm procedures
- Experience with portable abdomen X-rays
Facility & Work Environment
- Acute Care Hospital
- Level I Trauma Center
- Magnet recognized hospital
- Total staffed beds: 562
- Scrub color: Any solid color
- Charting system: Cerner
- Parking: Permit required, no cost
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Drug screening (9 panel) within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including labs within 7 days of contract signing
- Immunizations and/or titers for:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (vaccine series or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- TB testing (2-step PPD, TSPOT, or Qgold) within 1 year of start
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
- Fingerprinting and Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry results required for clinical candidates without an IL state license
- Competency exam required for all clinical candidates
- Photo for badge required before start
- References: 2 professional references required for clinical candidates
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be able to work holidays and every 3rd weekend
- On-call shifts are required as needed
- No floating outside scope of practice
- Block scheduling may be accommodated upon discussion
- Pending licenses are not accepted; active Illinois license required
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
