Job Details
- Unit: Labor & Delivery / OB
- Shift Options:
- 4x12 hour shifts (days)
- 3x12 hour shifts (nights, 1800-0630)
- Unit Size: 18 beds
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Labor & Delivery nursing
- First-time travelers: Accepted
- Weekend Requirement: None
- On-call: No
- Floating: May float to Pediatrics as needed
- Schedule Flexibility: Block schedule requests can be discussed with management
- Local Candidates: Accepted with no radius restrictions
- License: Must have an active Illinois RN license or be in the application process with ETA to apply
- Return to Office Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Fetal Monitoring Certification
Required Skills and Experience
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Fetal Monitoring Certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with High Risk patients
- Antepartum experience
- High Risk Antepartum experience
- Level I Nursery experience
- LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience
- Mother/Baby care experience
- Ability to perform OCT (Oxytocin Challenge Tests)
- Use of Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), including both external and internal fetal monitoring
- Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Assist with high-risk deliveries
- Circulate for C-sections and recover C-section patients
- Management of hemorrhage and shock
- Experience with radiant warmers and thermoregulation
- Care for Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
- Postpartum care including management of multiple births
Preferred Experience
- Community hospital experience
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
