Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a mid shift (11:00 am - 11:30 pm). This is a travel contract position requiring a strong background in ER nursing.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 18 months of recent Emergency Room (ER) experience, including experience within the last year
- 1.5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- NIHSS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS, ACLS, PALS: AHA or American Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI acceptable.
- TNCC: Preferred for ER but not mandatory.
- Baseline competency exams on medication administration and ECG interpretation required at orientation (90% passing for medication, 80% for ECG).
- State license primary source verification required within 30 days of start.
- NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start.
Background & Health Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required.
- Background check including FCRA compliant 7-year search, education verification, and fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) required prior to start and updated annually. Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
- Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months of start and updated annually.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Annual flu vaccination required (no declinations accepted).
- Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted).
- Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start.
Additional Requirements
- Must complete onboarding training modules prior to start; these include online training and facility-specific orientation.
- Must submit 2 professional references from employment within the last year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director).
- Employment application must include at least 3 years of prior work history with 2 years in acute care and similar specialty area.
- Must be able to complete all required documentation and certifications prior to start.
Work Schedule
- Mid shift: 11:00 am to 11:30 pm.
- Must be available to work at least every other holiday.
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
- Passing scores on medication and ECG competency exams are mandatory during orientation.
- Fingerprinting results must be received prior to contract extension.
- Candidates with gaps in employment longer than 6 months may need to repeat certain onboarding steps.
