CT Technologist
Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 9 weeks (61 days)
Job Description
- Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
- Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper functioning before patient studies.
- Inject patients with radioactive material as per physician’s orders following prescribed protocols.
- Complete all required documentation including logs, manuals, and charge documents; report equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies.
- Conduct quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests; follow radiation safety guidelines adhering to the ALARA principle.
- Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
- Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use.
- Receive and verify radiopharmaceutical deliveries and activity levels prior to administration.
Additional Information
- Perform CT procedures according to prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
- Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in New York
- Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program
- Certified Radiologic Technologist
- ARRT (Radiography) certification
- ARRT (CT) certification
- CT Certified
- Injection Certified
- Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
