Description
Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Technician
Location: Mason City, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 7 days on / 7 days off rotation (Wednesday to Tuesday)
- Shift hours vary and include overnight and early morning shifts:
- Wednesday/Thursday: 8:30 PM – 6:30 AM
- Friday: 8:30 PM – 8:30 AM
- Saturday: 8:00 PM – 8:30 AM
- Sunday: 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Monday/Tuesday: 8:30 PM – 6:30 AM
Required Experience & Skills
- Specialty: Ultrasound Technician
- Experience with PIC (Peripheral Inserted Catheter)
- Familiarity with GE Centricity PACS system
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) or RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) certification preferred
Required Qualifications & Credentials
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist or Ultrasound Technician, with experience within the last year
- Experience with Centricity (GE Centricity PACS system)
- Valid Ultrasound Technician license or certification as applicable
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year
- Fit test and drug screening (10-panel) completed within 30 days of start date
- Proof of immunizations and health screenings including:
- COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or immunity proof
- Hepatitis B vaccination series started prior to start date
- Influenza vaccine or approved exemption
- Varicella vaccination or immunity proof
- Tdap vaccine (declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction)
- 2-step PPD or IGRA TB test with chest x-ray if applicable
- Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year
Additional Onboarding Requirements
- Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county) within 30 days of start
- Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma
- Various professional forms and agreements including confidentiality, code of conduct, conflict of interest, and system access forms
- Specialty skills checklist and core competency exams as required
- State-specific abuse registry checks (Iowa)
- Drug screening with Medical Review Officer (MRO) signature
