Description
Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Call Requirements:
- 5 to 6 nights of call monthly (5:00 PM to 6:30 AM next morning)
- 1 weekend of call monthly (Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 6:30 AM)
- Strong vascular procedure experience required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Vascular Interventional Technician license in Maryland
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Vascular Interventional Technician, including experience within the last year
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Tech
- Strong vascular procedure experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- RCIS or ARRT certification
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 30 days of start
- Immunizations/vaccinations including:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Various competency exams and certifications as applicable (e.g., EKG/Dysrhythmia competency)
- Radiation badge required (provided by facility)
- Completion of facility-specific policies and acknowledgements (e.g., hand hygiene, floating policy, time and attendance)
Additional Notes
- Stroke and Trauma CEUs may be required and must be maintained annually
- EKG/Dysrhythmia competency exam is time-sensitive and must be passed within allowed attempts
- Respirator fit testing will be completed onsite if applicable
- References and employment verification required as part of credentialing
This position offers a structured schedule with call responsibilities and requires strong technical skills in vascular procedures within the cath lab environment. It is suitable for candidates with at least one year of relevant experience and appropriate licensure and certifications.
