Registered Nurse - Stepdown Neuro

Location: Jackson, Tennessee

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work on a Neuro/Surgical Telemetry floor (Stepdown Neuro unit).
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:45 AM - 07:15 PM).
• No on-call required.
• May be required to float to other Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units or low-acuity ICU.
• Holiday and weekend requirements: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; must be willing to work Memorial Day.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service.
• Background check within 30 days of start, including all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually.
• Verification of certifications and licenses.
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire updated annually.
• Required immunizations/vaccinations:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer with booster if needed)
  • Hepatitis B (titer or series with booster if needed)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer with booster if needed)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (no declinations accepted)
  • COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption prior to start
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted).
• N95 fit test within 1 year, updated annually (no PAPR allowed).
• Completion of Epic test-out required (one attempt only; failure results in contract cancellation).
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
• Completed employment application/resume.
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty.

Additional Notes

• Must be willing to comply with appearance standards and facility-specific policies.
• Candidate must complete all required documentation and certifications prior to or shortly after start date as specified.
• Contract cancellation may occur if required certifications, tests, or documentation are not completed as required.
