Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - SICU Oncology

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Job Description

• Work in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) with oncology patients.
• Shift: 12-hour day/night rotating or nights. Shift assignments may vary every 4 weeks based on staffing needs.
• Patient population: Adults with critical conditions including hemorrhagic shock, hypovolemic shock, sepsis, septic shock, pneumonia, ARDS, craniotomy, ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, intracranial hypertension, and delirium.
• Special procedures and unit details include:

  • External Ventricular Drain management
  • ICP monitoring
  • Massive Transfusion Protocol
  • Mechanical Ventilation
  • Heated High Flow, BiPAP, CPAP
  • Tracheostomy management
  • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
  • Vasopressor titration

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, including ICU experience within the last year.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system required.

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS).

Required Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, including ICU experience within the last year.
• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS).
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Patient Care Focus

• Adult critical care patients with complex neurological and oncological diagnoses.
• Management of advanced life support and critical care interventions.

Notes

• Candidates must be able to work rotating shifts including days and nights.
• This position is not open to first-time travel nurses.
• Compliance with all background checks, fingerprinting, and credential verifications is mandatory prior to start.
• Ongoing certification renewals and competency exams are required during assignment.

This role is ideal for experienced ICU RNs with strong critical care skills and EPIC experience, seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity oncology SICU setting.
