Job Opportunity: RN PCU/Telemetry
Location: Barberton, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry setting.
- Must be willing to float to other units as needed.
- Solid black scrubs are required.
- No block scheduling requests accepted.
- Return to Office (RTO) documentation required at submission; maximum 7 days allowed.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Ohio.
- Accredited nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
- Certifications required at submission:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA only (AHA RQI acceptable)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA only (AHA RQI acceptable)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (through Apex, Health Stream, or AHA)
- Must complete unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists annually.
- Must complete Telemetry and EKG exams with a passing score of 80% or higher.
- Must complete core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, and OSHA topics annually.
Health and Compliance Requirements (Must be current or completed prior to start)
- Fit test for N95 respirators (3M 1870+ N95, Medline Cone Small, 3M 1860 Reg & Small only) within one year.
- Pre-employment physical with assessment of ability to perform essential job functions.
- Immunizations and titers:
- MMR (titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B (titer or complete vaccine series; signed declinations accepted)
- Influenza vaccine (required October-April; medical/religious exemptions require approval)
- Varicella (titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted)
- Tdap within 10 years (optional)
- Tuberculosis screening:
- 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with negative results; no declinations accepted.
- Annual TB questionnaire.
- If positive PPD, negative chest X-ray within 1 year required.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually.
- Criminal background check compliant with FCRA standards, including multiple searches, within 90 days of start.
- OIG, EPLS, and education verifications within 90 days of start.
- Valid government-issued photo ID and Social Security card or number required.
Additional Information
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Return to Office (RTO) days limited to 7 days maximum.
- Candidates must submit a complete RN submission packet including required checklists and signatures.
- Travelers continuously on assignment with no breaks are not required to update physicals annually.
- Competency exams and skills checklists must be updated annually.
