Registered Nurse (OB/L&D) - Minnesota, Bemidji
Job Details
- Specialty: OB/L&D (Labor & Delivery), Postpartum, Newborn Care
- Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day/night rotation, every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays
- Schedule: Variable shifts including weekends; must be willing to float to Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Minnesota RN license
- Minimum 2 years of OB/L&D nursing experience
- Current certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- EPIC electronic medical record experience (or familiarity with other EMR systems)
- Ability to work in Labor and Postpartum units
- Willingness to float primarily as helping hands and occasionally to Med-Surg patients
Job Responsibilities
- Provide care for postpartum mothers, stable antepartum patients, newborns, gynecology patients, and Med-Surg overflow
- May serve as second RN in Special Care Nursery (SCN)
- Assist with circulating in Labor & Delivery if experienced
- Support unit staffing needs including coverage for onboarding, vacancies, and staff on leave

- Average daily census:
- 5 mom/baby couplets
- 2 pediatrics
- 1 gynecology patient
- 2 laboring patients
- 4 Special Care Nursery patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN standards:
- 1:3 mom/baby couplets
- 1:5 gynecology/Med-Surg patients
- 1:3-4 pediatrics
- Support staff includes ward clerks, CNAs, charge nurses, resource nurses, and LPN scrub nurses

- Medfusion infusion pumps
Additional Information
- Orientation includes equipment and unit-specific training on the first day
- Clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Uniform scrub color: Navy Blue
