Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PICU
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Care for patients up to 25 years old, including epilepsy monitoring and specialized pediatric care
- Must work at least every other holiday
- Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety testing (SafeMedicate) with required passing scores
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1.5 years of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience, including at least 1.5 years of recent PICU experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric patients, including specialized care for patients up to 25 years old and epilepsy monitoring
- Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- CHEMO certification
- CST certification
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background checks including 7-year FCRA compliant search, monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
- FBI and state fingerprinting within 12 months, updated annually
- Education verification
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions
- Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with annual updates)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
- Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination (declinations not accepted; exemptions require approval)
- Drug screening (standard 10-panel) within 12 months, updated annually
- Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year
- References: 2 professional references from recent employment within 1 year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
Additional Information
- Completion of online onboarding and training modules prior to start is mandatory
- Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; video content must be viewed before testing
- Candidates with breaks in employment longer than 6 months may need to repeat onboarding modules
- Candidates must maintain legal name consistency across all documentation
- Orientation includes facility-specific exams and competency assessments
- Candidates must be prepared to comply with all facility policies and testing requirements
