Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVOR

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Job Description

• Must hold a Pennsylvania nursing license at time of submission.
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
• Required experience: Minimum 3 years in specialty.
• Must be able to scrub and circulate for all types of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) cases.
• Potential to float to general OR and cardiac cases at a nearby facility.
• On-call requirement: 1-2 days per week, including 1 weekend per month.
• Holiday on-call duties as applicable.
• Level I Trauma experience required.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Charting system used: Cerner (Surginet).
• Scrubs provided.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum 3 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Experience working with Level I Trauma patients.
• Level I Trauma experience.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or proficiency.

Additional Requirements

• Must complete background checks including 7-year criminal history and education verification.
• Physical exam within 2 months of start.
• Fit mask test (3M 1870+ model) within 12 months prior to start.
• Current immunizations/vaccinations including Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, and annual flu vaccine or approved exemption.
• Negative TB test (Qgold or TSPOT) within 90 days of start.
• Drug screening (10 panel or 9 panel without THC) within 60 days prior to start.
• Pass/fail dysrhythmia exam during orientation.
• Completion of facility-specific education modules prior to orientation.
• Professional references (2) within 2 years.
• Pennsylvania child abuse clearance and fingerprinting results required prior to start.

Onboarding & Compliance Notes

• Orientation includes pass/fail testing on EKG/medication.
• Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required.
• Facility-specific safety manual acknowledgment required annually.
• COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required prior to start; however, medical/religious exemptions require mask use while at work.
• Flu vaccination required during flu season unless medically/religiously exempted.

Preferred Experience

• Charge nurse experience.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
