Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - North Dakota, Fargo

Job Details

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical (Med Surg)
• Location: Fargo, North Dakota
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, every other week (EOW) and every other weekend (EOH)
• Unit: 47-bed Medical-Surgical unit (5SE)
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 5:1 (day shift), 6:1 (night shift)
• Floating: May float to any Med Surg unit on any campus

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years recent Medical-Surgical experience in a larger hospital (200+ beds), Level 2 or higher trauma center
• Travel Experience: Travel experience required unless candidate has multiple years of experience in a large Level 1 trauma center
• Certifications: BLS (AHA) required
• Licensure: Active North Dakota RN license or Compact RN license
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Experience: EPIC experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with surgical oncology patients preferred but not required

Job Responsibilities

• Provide care for Medical-Surgical and Surgical Oncology patients
• Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Practice within full scope of nursing expertise using age and population-specific standards
• Utilize equipment such as EMR-Epic, AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and Telemetry

Orientation & Training

• 1 day lead center training
• 2 twelve-hour shifts on the unit with a preceptor (12-hour day shifts including every other weekend)

Additional Information

• Scrubs color: Navy Blue
• Must badge in and out at the facility
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Local candidates living 60-80 miles from the facility may be considered with adjusted travel rate
• Must disclose if previously worked for the facility; if so, last end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission
