Description
Job Opportunity: Therapist - Cardiopulmonary and Sleep Services
Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Employment Type: Traveler - Backfill
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide care to all patient populations for therapeutic purposes.
- Review and maintain care plans.
- Perform patient evaluations and adjust care as needed.
- Participate in a team approach for distressed newborns, high-risk deliveries, and attend C-sections.
- Utilize equipment including:
- Epic computerized charting (EMR)
- Medication and supply scanning
- Respiratory care equipment such as Servo ventilators, BIPAP (V-60, Vision), Airvo, MetNeb, Neo-Tee.
Schedule
- Will not work alone.
- Every other weekend shift.
- Voluntary on-call.
- No floating to other units/departments.
Unit Information
- 12 bed ICU within a 250 bed hospital.
- Dress code: Black scrubs.
- Orientation includes:
- Required Epic EMR training by assigned trainer.
- Department-specific training up to 3 weeks with preceptor check-off before completion.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience preferred as a Credentialed Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Adult intubation skills required.
- Experience with high-risk infant deliveries and C-sections required.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through AHA
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through AHA
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
