Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Wilson, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in the Emergency Department with a 26-bed unit
• Patient ratios typically 1:4-5, flexible depending on acuity
• Equipment includes GE Monitors and standard ED equipment
• Electronic Health Record system: Meditech (experience preferred)
• Patient population includes all ages (geriatric, adult, pediatric)
• Common diagnoses and treatments: Respiratory Distress, Overdose, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Dialysis, Hypertension (HTN)
• Shift and number of openings vary
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend hours: Every other weekend
• No call requirements
• Float assignments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Required certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly
• Dress code: Scrubs (any color acceptable)
