Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Paducah, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required.
- Prior travel experience required.
- Work schedule: Block schedule with 1 RTO allowed per contract.
- On-call duty every 4 weeks (nights and weekends only).
- Circulate in General Operating Room. Preferred additional experience in ENT, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Spine, Plastics, Robotics, Urology, or Vascular cases.
- Epic electronic health record experience required.
- Scrubs provided.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- State License 1 Verification
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Required Qualifications & Compliance
- Must provide a current Driver’s License if driving is part of job duties.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and education verification required.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date required.
- Fit mask test (respirator fit test) required annually; religious exemption accepted with proper documentation.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or titer proof
- Varicella vaccination or titer proof
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required.
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required.
- Unit-specific skills checklist must be completed and updated annually.
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency testing as applicable.
- Photo for badge required (headshot with solid light background).
Work Environment & Notes
- Circulating nurse role in a general OR setting with varied surgical specialties.
- On-call responsibilities include nights and weekends every 4 weeks.
- Block scheduling format.
- Scrubs provided by employer.
