Job Description

• Provide exceptional patient care to adult and geriatric populations during cardiovascular procedures.
• Address physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs of patients in a surgical and procedural environment.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, providing continuous updates on patient status before, during, and after procedures.
• Prepare and maintain procedure rooms, ensuring all equipment is functioning, calibrated, and ready for use.
• Manage supplies and inventory to support efficient workflow in the Cath Lab.
• Monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, interpreting data accurately and responding rapidly to changes.
• Continuously assess and document patient condition while in the Cardiovascular Lab.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational excellence.

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent hands-on clinical experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Experience with Dialysis Catheter Insertion (DCI) and Balloon Valvuloplasty (BVP).
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Onboarding and Compliance

• Driver’s license or state ID required for onboarding.
• Drug screening (10-panel test) as applicable by location.
• Color-blind test (updated annually).
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster or completed declination.
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza (seasonal), and Tdap.
• Tuberculosis (TB) test within one year of start date and annual TB questionnaire.
• Annual respirator fit test (must be completed prior to start).
• National criminal background check within one year of start date.
• Social Security card or passport for identity verification.
• Physical/health statement confirming ability to work, completed annually.
• Completion of required competency exams and skills checklists with minimum passing scores.
• Education verification and onboarding attestations as required.

• Must maintain thorough and precise documentation of patient care and procedure details.
• Participation in continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities is expected.
• Collaboration and communication with multidisciplinary teams are essential for patient safety and care quality.
