Description
Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide nursing care primarily for adult patients on a telemetry unit. The position offers a 36 or 48 hour weekly guarantee with a 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shift. May require floating within a 25-mile radius of the facility.
Unit Information
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical Telemetry
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 (supported by CNA and LPN staff)
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: MediTech
- Patient Population: Adults
- Certifications Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) mandatory; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred but not required; Heart Wave Certification (HWC) required
- Onboarding Requirements:
- Iowa SING background check clearance (criminal and child abuse portions mandatory)
- All background checks fully cleared prior to start (no instant or statewide searches accepted)
- Mandatory reporter certification for child and adult required
- 10-panel drug screening including opiates
- Titers must be current within the last 12 months
- Start Days Allowed: Monday or Tuesday
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry nursing experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Heart Wave Certification (HWC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred but not required
