Job Description
Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Behavioral Health to provide patient care in a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric experience
- Psychiatric experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- CPI or MOAB certification
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Professional credentials including resume/profile and at least two professional references.
- Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documentation.
- Completion of facility-specific onboarding requirements including:
- Core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with minimum 80% passing score.
- Cerner test-out and EKG exam with passing scores.
- Unit-specific checklist (optional but recommended).
- Nursing contract worker onboarding completed onsite.
- Pre-hire education attestation and training modules.
- Background checks including criminal background, EPLS, and employment verification covering the past seven years.
- Health and immunization documentation:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
- Varicella (two vaccines, immunity evidence, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted)
- Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine (optional; if declined, mask required during flu season)
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire if applicable
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start; can be completed onsite)
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Identification: Valid driver’s license or state ID matching address on file.
Additional Notes
- Badge photo required (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
- Some training and testing must be updated every 3 years or annually as specified.
- Extensions require updated documentation and re-verification as applicable.
This position is ideal for an RN with behavioral health experience seeking a long-term assignment in Kansas. Compliance with all credentialing, health, and onboarding requirements is mandatory prior to start.
