Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Behavioral Health to provide patient care in a hospital setting.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric experience
• Psychiatric experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• CPI or MOAB certification

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Professional credentials including resume/profile and at least two professional references.
• Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documentation.
• Completion of facility-specific onboarding requirements including:

  • Core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with minimum 80% passing score.
  • Cerner test-out and EKG exam with passing scores.
  • Unit-specific checklist (optional but recommended).
  • Nursing contract worker onboarding completed onsite.
  • Pre-hire education attestation and training modules.
• Background checks including criminal background, EPLS, and employment verification covering the past seven years.
• Health and immunization documentation:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella (two vaccines, immunity evidence, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine (optional; if declined, mask required during flu season)
  • TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire if applicable
  • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start; can be completed onsite)
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
• Identification: Valid driver’s license or state ID matching address on file.

Additional Notes

• Badge photo required (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
• Some training and testing must be updated every 3 years or annually as specified.
• Extensions require updated documentation and re-verification as applicable.

This position is ideal for an RN with behavioral health experience seeking a long-term assignment in Kansas. Compliance with all credentialing, health, and onboarding requirements is mandatory prior to start.
