Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgery General (Major) RNFA

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) in General Surgery (Major)
• Department: Operating Room (OR) - General Surgery
• Cases per day: 40-60 general surgery cases including robotic colon, hernias, gastric sleeves, gastric bypasses, and cholecystectomies
• OR Suites: 31 total between 2 buildings, with 15 general surgery rooms
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Day shift)
• Hours per week: 40 hours
• Call: Required on weeknights depending on physician needs, no weekend or holiday call
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Orientation: 12 non-billable hours; unit-specific orientation with 5 consecutive 8-hour shifts plus call

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or proof that application process has started
• Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certification
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience as RNFA in general surgery
• Experience with both robotic and open surgical procedures
• Proficient with firing staplers during surgery
• Ability to scrub and assist the surgeon during procedures

• Local rate adjustments apply for clinicians living within 50 miles
• Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or pay required for missed shifts
