Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVOR

Location: Jackson, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Call: 1 night per week (2:30 PM – 6:00 AM next morning)
• Every 5th weekend: Saturday 7:00 AM – Monday 6:00 AM

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) settings.
• Must have broad knowledge and competency in surgical cases and procedures including but not limited to:

  • CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
  • MVR, AVR, TVR (Mitral, Aortic, Tricuspid Valve Replacement)
  • ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)
  • TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
  • TCAR (TransCarotid Artery Revascularization)
  • Impella insertion/removal
  • Thoracic/Lung procedures
• Epic electronic health record experience within the last 12 months is required and must be explicitly documented.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee.
• Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, including experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Required Certifications & Documents

• ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
• N95 Fit Test within 1 year (no PAPR allowed)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or chest X-ray within 5 years if prior positive)
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (no declinations accepted)
• COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Background check within 30 days of start, including all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Employment application/resume
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty
• EPIC test-out required (one attempt only; failure results in contract cancellation)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service.
• Background checks must be updated annually.
• NIH Stroke Certification is required for RNs (not applicable for Mother/Baby, Labor & Delivery, or NICU).
• Candidates must review and sign appearance standards prior to start.
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required.

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required. First-time travelers are accepted.
