Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Pediatrics

Location: Rockville, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Pediatric Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of recent pediatric experience required.
  • Start date: ASAP.
  • Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 40 hours guaranteed, no weekends.
  • Patient age range: Birth to 21 years.
  • Primary diagnoses/conditions treated: Cerebral Palsy (CP), Autism, Genetic/developmental conditions.
  • Caseload: Approximately 25 billed hours per week (scheduled 29-30 hours to account for cancellations).
  • Evaluation vs. treatment mix: 1-2 evaluations per week.
  • Therapy sessions are typically 1:1 with occasional co-treats.
  • Documentation system: Cerner.
  • Therapy team includes OT, PT, and SLP disciplines.
  • Support staff: 0.5 Rehab Tech.
  • Orientation and training provided.
  • Well-equipped therapy environment including sensory gym and feeding tools.
  • Dress code: Comfortable; no jeans or open-toed shoes; scrubs commonly worn.
  • Parking: Free garage on site.
  • No weekend, holiday, or floating requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Pediatric Occupational Therapist license in Maryland.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pediatric occupational therapy experience.
  • Pediatric occupational therapy experience within the last year.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric occupational therapy experience.
  • Experience with feeding, sensory, and school-based therapy preferred but not required.
  • Ability to manage a caseload of pediatric patients with developmental and genetic conditions.
  • Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary outpatient therapy setting.

  • No prior travel experience explicitly required.
  • Orientation and training provided.
  • Comfortable work environment with no weekend or holiday shifts.
