Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Pediatrics
Location: Rockville, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Pediatric Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of recent pediatric experience required.
- Start date: ASAP.
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 40 hours guaranteed, no weekends.
- Patient age range: Birth to 21 years.
- Primary diagnoses/conditions treated: Cerebral Palsy (CP), Autism, Genetic/developmental conditions.
- Caseload: Approximately 25 billed hours per week (scheduled 29-30 hours to account for cancellations).
- Evaluation vs. treatment mix: 1-2 evaluations per week.
- Therapy sessions are typically 1:1 with occasional co-treats.
- Documentation system: Cerner.
- Therapy team includes OT, PT, and SLP disciplines.
- Support staff: 0.5 Rehab Tech.
- Orientation and training provided.
- Well-equipped therapy environment including sensory gym and feeding tools.
- Dress code: Comfortable; no jeans or open-toed shoes; scrubs commonly worn.
- Parking: Free garage on site.
- No weekend, holiday, or floating requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pediatric Occupational Therapist license in Maryland.
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric occupational therapy experience.
- Pediatric occupational therapy experience within the last year.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric occupational therapy experience.
- Experience with feeding, sensory, and school-based therapy preferred but not required.
- Ability to manage a caseload of pediatric patients with developmental and genetic conditions.
- Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary outpatient therapy setting.
