Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide nursing care in the Operating Room with a caseload of approximately 30-35 cases per week.
• Minimal floating required; occasional float to linen services or med/surg as a sitter after training.
• Self-scheduling call requirement: 1 weekday per week and 1 weekend within every 4 weeks.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• OB/GYN experience.

Onboarding Requirements

• Must have Iowa SING background check clearance (including Criminal and Child Abuse portions) with no exceptions.
• All background checks (county and state) must be fully cleared prior to start; instant or statewide searches are not accepted.
• Mandatory reporter certification for both Child and Adult required.
• Drug test: 10-panel screening including opiates.
• Immunization titers (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB) must be current within the last 12 months.
• Start days allowed: Monday or Tuesday.

Unit and Facility Information

• Facility uses Meditech EHR system.
• Equipment includes DaVinci X Robot and Stryker surgical tools.
• Patient population primarily surgical cases requiring OR nursing care.
• Call and weekend coverage are part of the role but self-scheduled.
