Description
Physical Therapist (PT) - Texas
Location
- City: Caldwell, Texas
Job Type & Schedule
- Contract length: 12 weeks
- Shift: Day shift
- Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Schedule: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- No weekends required
- Holiday coverage: Rotates with staff, may be needed (discuss during interview)
- No on-call or weekend call outs (strongly discouraged and may lead to termination)
Work Setting
- Combination of Inpatient (IP) and Outpatient (OP) physical therapy
- Patient load: Approximately 7 treatment hours per day
- Patient types: General PT cases including fractures, orthopedic injuries (sports), 10-15% neurological cases, some amputations, neck pain
- No acutely ill patients at this campus
- Specialized cases (e.g., amputations, neck pain) are referred to a sister facility
- Support: Unit has 2 full-time staff PTs and 2-3 PTAs plus 1 tech
- Float between inpatient and outpatient units
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
- Minimum of 2 years of Physical Therapist experience
- Physical Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Experience in an Inpatient setting
- Experience in an Outpatient setting
Additional Information
- Candidates must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any related health system facility within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
- May be asked to precept new staff as needed
- Department-specific orientation provided (brief)
- Dress code: Maroon scrubs (not provided)
- Supportive nursing and therapy staff environment
