Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) with holiday rotation
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: No
• Floating: Must be able to float within scope to all hospital areas, including labor and delivery
• Local Radius: 60 miles (no local candidates accepted)
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including recent experience within the last year
• Recent critical care experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Current certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • NBRC (RRT credential)

Additional Requirements

• Must provide proof of 2 clinical references
• Performance evaluation dated within 12 months of start required
• Complete application/resume required
• Must complete annual background checks including SSN trace, criminal, sex offender, and international searches
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination/declination
  • Varicella titer or vaccination
  • Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption (seasonal requirement)
• COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
• Respirator clearance required annually via RespSafety questionnaire

Orientation and Facility Specifics

• Must complete orientation modules prior to start (approx. 4 hours)
• Clear, passport-style photo required for badge
• Must sign assignment acknowledgment, code of conduct, confidentiality agreements, and user access requests prior to start
• Facility uses Epic for charting
• Free parking available

• No radiation badge required for this role
• No block scheduling accommodations available
• Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be considered
