MRI Tech Position in Utah

Location

• City: St George, Utah

Job Summary

• Ensure proper patient identification and order verification; prepare patients for MRI exams.
• Perform MRI examinations according to department protocols.
• Demonstrate competency in cross-sectional anatomy and anatomical positioning.
• Critique own films and complete studies within acceptable timeframes without compromising patient care or exam quality.
• Collaborate with radiologists to select appropriate scanning techniques and protocols.
• Administer intravenous contrast material under physician or radiologist supervision, following protocol.
• Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
• Operate MRI equipment and related information systems to produce quality images.
• View, transfer, archive, and manipulate images; demonstrate proficiency with electronic imaging.
• Troubleshoot MRI scanner issues; understand shutdown, startup, and quench procedures.
• Adhere to MRI safety policies, including the FOUR ZONE concept and magnet safety during emergencies.
• Complete all required documentation accurately, including time stamps and image storage.
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, quality documentation, QC programs, and equipment failure reporting.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Day shift, 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of MRI technologist experience within the last year.
• ARRT certification as RT (R)(MR) or RT (MR).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
