Description

Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Night Shift)

Location: Warrensville Heights, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
  • Unit: Emergency Department
  • Work Schedule: Must work at least every other holiday
  • Orientation Requirements:
    • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication exam during orientation; passing scores required
    • Prep materials provided before orientation

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Minimum 1.5 years of Emergency Department experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license) required and must be carried on assignment
  • Background checks including:
    • FCRA-compliant 7-year search (SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, education verification)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monthly checks
    • FBI and BCI fingerprinting within 12 months, updated annually (code 4723.09 for nursing)
  • Education verification required for all candidates
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including assessment of ability to safely perform job functions
  • Fit mask test (3M N95 1860 or 1870+) within 12 months, updated annually
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers with boosters if needed
    • Hepatitis B vaccination/titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if needed
    • Annual flu vaccination (no declinations accepted; medical/religious exemptions require agency and facility approval)
  • Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant screens not accepted)
  • Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start

Additional Requirements

  • Employment application including 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years in acute care and similar area
  • Two professional references from employment within the past year (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone)
  • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing policies and orientation safety manual (required for agency compliance)

Notes

  • Candidates with a break in employment longer than 6 months at this facility may need to retake orientation modules and competency exams
  • Fingerprinting must be completed both through the agency and again at the facility prior to start
  • Candidates must be prepared to comply with all health and safety protocols, including immunizations and fit testing
  • Facility provides 4 hours of paid time for completion of onboarding modules; additional time is not covered

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurses who meet the licensure and certification requirements and are comfortable working night shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment.
