Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) with holiday rotation
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Must be able to float within scope to all hospital areas, including labor and delivery
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
- First-timers: Not accepted (must have prior experience)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, including experience within the last year
- Current certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work within a 60-mile radius of the job location
- No local candidates accepted
- Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
- No block scheduling accommodations available
Important Notes
- During hurricane season (June through November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. Travelers should consider this before accepting assignments during this period.
- Floating includes coverage in labor and delivery areas.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Proof of work eligibility (I-9 attestation and documentation)
- Copy of Driver’s License/State ID
- Social Security Card or equivalent documentation
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including international searches
- Education verification or diploma/transcripts as applicable
- Drug screening (10-panel urine test within 90 days of start)
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer or vaccination)
- Flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug-April)
- COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Respirator clearance annually via virtual questionnaire
- Proof of 2 clinical references and recent performance evaluation (within 12 months)
- Employment history verification for last 3 clinical employers (exceptions apply)
Orientation and Facility Specifics
- Completion of orientation modules prior to start (approx. 4 hours)
- Submission of a clear, passport-style photo for badge issuance
- Signing of assignment acknowledgment, confidentiality agreements, code of conduct, and other facility-required documents prior to start
- Access to electronic charting system (Epic)
