Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (Night Shift)
Schedule: On-call 4 nights on a six-week rotation covering multiple units


Job Description

  • Provide care across all respiratory therapy (RT) modalities.
  • Night shift with on-call responsibilities as specified.

Required Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications

  • Valid permanent Respiratory Therapist license (no temporary licenses accepted).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (American Heart Association).

Experience

  • Specialty: Respiratory Therapy (all modalities).
  • Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard for RT roles.
  • Prior travel experience: Not required.

Health & Immunizations

  • COVID-19 vaccine: Preferred but not required; medical or religious exemptions accepted.

  • Fit test for N95 respirators: Completed within 1 year prior to start and updated annually.
  • Physical exam: Pre-employment physical within 1 year confirming ability to work without restrictions.

Background & Verification

  • Criminal background check within 6 months, including social security trace and national sex offender search.
  • Ohio fingerprinting and FBI background checks as applicable based on residency duration.
  • Employment verification for the last 5 years.
  • Education verification; international degrees require equivalency documentation.
  • I-9 verification confirming eligibility to work.
  • Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, no instant screens).
  • OIG exclusion check and federal sanctions screening within 6 months.
  • National database criminal background check (for Ohio residents).

Competency & Skills

  • Completion of department-specific competency exams with a minimum score of 80%.
  • Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission topics.
  • Skills checklist completed within 1 year prior to start.
  • Completion of required safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance; annual renewal required.

  • Non-expired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).

  • All license and certification verifications must be primary source verified within 30 days of start and updated upon expiration.
  • Attestations are generally not accepted except for fingerprinting pending results with proper documentation.
  • Some immunization boosters require follow-up titers to confirm immunity.
