Job Opportunity: CRT - Respiratory Therapy

Facility Overview

  • 50-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital
  • Specializes in rehabilitation for stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury
  • Patient population: Geriatric and adults

Position Details

  • Department: Respiratory Therapy
  • Role: Respiratory Therapist (RT)
  • Specialty: Adults
  • Number of openings: 1
  • Shift: Days (11:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 32
  • Weekend hours: Rotating
  • Call requirements: None
  • Float requirements: None

Patient Care & Work Environment

  • RT expected to see all patients in-house daily
  • Daily respiratory therapy notes and timely documentation required
  • Common diagnoses treated: Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Stroke, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), Heart transplant
  • Equipment used: Stethoscope, pulse oximeter
  • Electronic Health Records (EHR): Pinpoint & UDS

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Experience in suctioning, BiPAP/CPAP, cough assist
  • Independent worker
  • Inpatient rehabilitation and acute care experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Scrub color: Green
  • Parking: Must park in the back of the building (front lot reserved for visitors)
  • Report to House Supervisor upon arrival
